Eating Local

I had the pleasure of eating with a group of local bloggers the other night, right here in town.  I formed a small meet up at a great restaurant, Bin 14 with some other New Jersey bloggers I met at the Healthy Living Summit.  Kristin from Shore to Run and Ashley from the Running Bun

I was so excited to see some familiar faces and share a meal and our thoughts after experiencing the conference.

I also finally got to meet the girls behind some local blogs Jenny from Hobokengirl.com and Alexandra from thebloginista.com.  They are so sweet and fun, very easy to talk with and nice to learn about their blogs and life in Hoboken.

And an old friend from college, Jan who blogs at  beetsandbluecheese.com, I'm so glad blogging brought us back together again.  She blogs amazing recipes and stories about her life as a young mother.

I couldn't resist the urge to create little goodie bags for everyone, tied together with a small wooden spoon.  Inside...those amazing chocolate cherry nut balls, recipe from the great, Mama Pea, with a few tweaks.

And of course what's a party without a raffle prize!  Check out the New Jersey cookie cutter...the girls went wild over this...I know, they don't let us out much.  It's all about the little things.

Ashley, from runningbun.com was our big winner!  Here she is with her cookie cutter and New York/New Jersey mug!  She's so fun and happy with her winnings.

It was a wonderful night with some talented women.  I'm always energized after meeting new people.  It's always great to get out of your own skin and learn and talk with others.  It feels good to stretch yourself, grow and reach out to your community.

I was happy and proud of myself for organizing the night.  We have our date set for next month and I look forward to more fun times ahead.  If you're a blogger in New Jersey and are interested in joining us, please feel feel to contact me

What have you joined recently that got you to go outside of your comfort zone and meeting new people?  How did it make you feel?

Happy September everyone!
